Mt. Gozusan

Mt. Gozusan is a mountain that spans Agano City, Niigata Prefecture and Aga Town, Higashi Kashihara-gun. The elevation is 912m. Located approximately in the middle of the Five Head Mountain Range. Among the mountain ranges, it is the height next to Mt. Hishigatake at an altitude of 974m in the southwest, and Mt. Matsudaira at an altitude of 954m in the northeast. It is named Mt. Gozusan because there are five peaks. It is reported that it was opened by Kobo Daishi in 809. The Agano city side of the west face is called Omote five (simply five), and the Aga town side of the east face is called the back five. There are several Iriyama routes from both sides. As a mountain near Niigata City, it boasts the number of mountain climbers in the prefecture. Onsen is a spa town and a golf course. At the local school, along with the Agano River, it is included in the lyrics of the school song to say enough. From the north, the XNUM X peaks, from which Mt. Gozusan is derived, are called from the north the five peaks (about XNUM X m), the four peaks (X NUM X m), the three peaks (X NUM X m), the two peaks (about X NUM X m), the one peak (about X NUM X m) And collectively referred to as "five heads and five peaks". These five peaks are not located on the main ridge line of the five-head mountain range, but are prominent protrusions aligned linearly and evenly over about 5m on a ridge extending northwest from the main ridge line. Looking from the east west of the Echigo Plain side, the XNUM X peaks are beautifully visible, and since ancient times these five peaks have been called and known as Mt. Gozusan itself. However, these five peaks have no triangle points.
